The Challenge of Keeping Up with Your Yard
Keeping a yard looking great isn’t as simple as it seems. Between busy schedules, unpredictable weather, and the never-ending cycle of mowing, trimming, weeding, and clean-ups, yard work quickly becomes overwhelming. Many homeowners struggle with:
Finding the time to keep up with regular maintenance
Knowing what to do and when to do it
Keeping weeds, overgrowth, and mess under control
Achieving a neat, polished look that actually lasts
Staying ahead of seasonal changes and clean-ups
When yard maintenance falls behind, things add up fast—lawns look messy, beds get overgrown, and your home’s curb appeal takes a hit.

Seasonal Clean-Ups FAQ — What’s Included
Seasonal clean-ups help reset your property for the season—clearing debris, tidying beds, and leaving your lawn and hardscapes looking sharp. Below are the most common questions we get for spring and fall clean-ups.
What is a seasonal clean-up?
A seasonal clean-up is a one-time (or occasional) service focused on removing accumulated yard debris and tidying up lawn and landscape areas. It’s most commonly done in spring (after winter) and fall (during/after leaf drop).
What’s included in a typical spring clean-up?
Spring clean-ups typically include:
- Removal of sticks, branches, and winter debris from lawn and beds
- Blow-out of leaves from corners, beds, and hard-to-reach areas
- Final tidy of walkways/driveways/patio areas (blow clean)
- Bed edge touch-ups (light definition/cleanup)
- Optional: first mow of the season (if turf is ready)
What’s included in a typical fall clean-up?
Fall clean-ups typically include:
- Leaf removal from lawn, landscape beds, and hard surfaces
- Blow-out of leaves from shrubs, fence lines, and corners
- Cutback of select perennials (upon request)
- Final blow clean of walkways/driveways/patios
- Optional: leaf mulching, bagging, or haul-away depending on volume
Do you haul away leaves and debris?
We can either haul away, bag, mulch into the lawn, or pile curbside (where allowed). The best approach depends on volume, your property layout, and local disposal rules.
Can you mulch the leaves instead of removing them?
Often, yes. Light-to-moderate leaf coverage can be mulched into the turf (smaller pieces break down more quickly). Heavy leaf volume usually needs partial or full removal to prevent smothering the lawn.
What’s not included in a standard clean-up?
Standard clean-ups generally do not include (unless requested/quoted):
- Mulch installation (fresh mulch/top-off)
- Extensive bed weeding
- Hedge trimming / shrub pruning beyond light touch-ups
- Large brush removal, storm damage work, or tree work
- Gutter cleaning
How is clean-up pricing determined?
Pricing typically depends on:
- Property size and number of landscaped areas
- Leaf/debris volume (light vs. heavy)
- Access/terrain (fence gates, slopes, tight corners)
- Whether debris is mulched, bagged, curbside piled, or hauled away
- Any add-ons (cutbacks, bed weeding, pruning, etc.)
How long does a clean-up take?
Most clean-ups take anywhere from 1–6+ hours depending on the property and debris volume. Heavier fall leaf coverage may require multiple visits.
Is a clean-up a one-time service or recurring?
Spring clean-ups are usually one-time. Fall clean-ups can be one-time or scheduled in rounds (especially during peak leaf drop) to keep the lawn manageable all season.
What should I do before you arrive?
- Move toys, hoses, and seasonal furniture off lawn areas
- Mark anything you don’t want disturbed (new plantings, low-voltage lighting, sprinkler heads)
- Secure pets and provide gate access if needed
- Let us know your preference: mulch leaves vs. bag vs. curbside vs. haul-away
Can you do clean-ups while it’s wet or after rain?
Some work is still possible, but soaked lawns can rut and wet leaves are heavier and slower to remove. We may reschedule to protect your turf and ensure a cleaner finish.
Do you clean out landscape beds and edges?
Yes—clean-ups generally include removing leaves/debris from beds and doing light edge touch-ups. If you want a more detailed bed refresh (weeding, redefining edges, new mulch), we can quote that as an add-on.
Do you cut back perennials in fall?
We can, upon request. Some plants prefer fall cutback, others do better left for winter interest or to protect crowns. If you’re not sure, we can recommend a simple approach based on your landscape.
What if my yard is extremely overgrown or there are lots of branches?
Heavy debris (storm branches, significant overgrowth, brush piles) may require a separate quote due to additional labor, equipment needs, and disposal requirements.
